I spent 2007 on a drumming sabbatical. A brief time with
famed instructor Kenwood Dennard lead me on an in-depth
study of the instrument. During this time I collected over a
dozen technique books, covering virtually every aspect of the
instrument. And during this time I put together my own
practice regiment that could address many of techniques I
studied.
For years I have developed my musical technique with a very
strict practice regiment covering basic technique, timing and
groove playing. When I put these techniques together I had
found a drumming workout plan that was quite amazing.
So I used my experience as a journalist, photographer, and
graphic designer to put together what I consider a fairly
complete package called “Rudimental Technique and
Analysis”.
After completing the book I sought out a teaching position at
a private music school where I was able to test it out on a
variety of students aged 6-46, male and female at varied skill
levels. I have found tremendous improvement in all of them,
they themselves and their parents will gladly testify. With this
boost of confidence I decided to send a copy of my manuscript
out to various publishers and agents.
I am very proud of this work, so much so that if my efforts to
find a publisher may fail I have found the resources to
publish, promote and market it myself. So please be patient,
and check back often for it's release. I am sure it will change
your drumming, as it did mine.
